"I've always wanted to be a parent, but this is not how I imagined it would feel. Did I make a mistake? Am I not meant to be a parent?"

Parenthood and life with an infant can bring up a lot of unexpected feelings. When our experiences are different than what we might have imagined they would be, we can experience feelings of doubt, guilt, shame, and even grief over the sensed loss of what we envisioned. Therapy can offer a safe space to express difficult emotions, develop skills to manage experienced distress, gain greater insights into thoughts and feelings underlying your experiences, and opportunity to bring meaning to your experiences & role as a parent/caregiver.
